Rugby, rugby and more rugby!
I’m a big fan of rugby and am loving the Autumn Internationals that are happening at the moment. Next year is also going to be a huge Rugby year with the Six Nations in February/ March and the World Cup in September/ October. The Autumn Internationals so far have thrown up some close games. There are still three weeks to go, so let’s hope the close games continue. If you’ve not seen my Facebook and Instagram, I’m running a little competition to predict the score in the last game on the 26th of November between England and South Africa. Correctly...
Ben's Biltong is back doing festivals!
I’m really looking forward to September as I’m back doing festivals and showcasing my range of biltong and droewors. After nearly two years of no festivals, thanks to the pandemic, I was at the Warwick Food Festival earlier this month, and it felt so good to be back! It was great seeing old customers again and introducing new people to my products. I now can’t wait to attend more festivals over the coming months! The first festival I’m heading to in September is Taste Bedford on the 4th & 5th. I’ve been to this one before and it’s a fantastic...
Ben's Meat & Heat Emporium turns 1!
On Saturday the 26th of June I celebrated the 1st birthday of Ben’s Meat & Heat Emporium. The braai was my way of saying thank you to all the fabulous customers who have supported me over the last year. It was so good to see so many of my regular Emporium customers on the day as well as some new faces. It was also fantastic to see many of my South African customers meeting fellow ex-pats...
My Butcher - Joseph Morris Butchers
This week is National Butchers week, so I thought I’d share a bit of information about the fabulous butcher I use for my biltong and droewors. Joseph Morris Butchers are situated in Rugby and have been my butcher for a number of years. They never let me down with their meat quality and are a pleasure to deal with. Joseph Morris Butchers are a family run business established in 1930 by Joseph Morris who set up a small shop in the village of South Kilworth in Leicestershire. As demand for quality meat grew, the business expanded and it is now...
