Why you don’t want to miss the Warwick Food Festival

Why you don’t want to miss the Warwick Food Festival

Later this month I’m doing the Warwick Food Festival. Warwick is my hometown and therefore this festival holds a special place in my calendar. Many people know Warwick because of its famous castle, which is a must visit, but there is so much more to see and do in Warwick.

Warwick has some wonderful parks and gardens including St Nicholas Park and Hill Close Gardens. It also has some fascinating museums including the Lord Leycester Hospital, the Market Hall Museum and the combined St John’s House & Royal Warwickshire regiment Fusiliers Museums. Warwick is also lucky enough to have an amazing array of independent shops, eateries and pubs. You could easily spend a few days here.

The annual Food Festival is a very popular event and brings together some of the best food and drink producers in Warwick, Warwickshire and further afield. In fact, there will be over 90 amazing independent food and drink traders at the Warwick Festival feeding and quenching the thirst of the masses.

Church Farm Brewery, who own Church Farm, the home of my butchery, will be at the festival offering a selection of craft beers. I have tried a few of their beers and they go perfectly with my biltong and droewors. Another of my fellow Church Farm producers, bread&co will also be at the festival. They are an awesome local bakery and will be offering some of their delicious goodies on the day.

Local business, Dough and Brew, who recently won the Best Pizza in England award in the Big 7 Travel & Food Guide, will also be at the festival with their Spectacular Goat street food van cooking up a selection of delicious pizzas to enjoy. Beki’s Brownies, another local business, will also be there selling her seriously yummy brownies.

As well as offering a mix of local food producers and hot food, the festival also puts on live entertainment and for the kids cooking sessions and rides. The festival is being held in and around Warwick’s Market Square on Sunday the 26th of May, so come along for a fabulous day out!
